Medieval Silver Bodkin Arrowhead Pendant Necklace in Solid Sterling Silver

$180.00 USD
The name comes from the Old English word bodkin or bodekin, a type of sharp, pointed dagger. Arrows of the bodkin type were used by the Vikings and continued in use through the Middle Ages. The four sided diamond shaped point was the arrowhead of choice against armored adversaries. This 1-1/2" beauty is a solid sterling casting of a old original iron wrought arrowhead. The hollow shank intended to receive the arrow shaft has been filled but I left it recessed enough to reveal the thickness of the original. The soldered link chain accents the arrowhead beautifully.
